"Daguerreotype Enhanced With Gilding, Woman Posing With A Book"
Charming daguerreotype in fifth plate format, 8x10 cm. In addition to the composure of the subject, we can note the presence of details enhanced with gold. Thus the lady's jewels (rings, chain and earrings) are gilded, as is the edge of the book she is holding open. Clean chemistry, adequate conservation, little oxidation. One may also note the presence of a signature at the bottom left of the daguerreotype as well as a note stuck to the back.
