FRENCH SCHOOL XV SCULPTURE OF SAINT DENIS
Saint Denis is not the only saint who lost his mind because of his beliefs, but he is the best known.
This sculpture was made in France at the end of the 15th century. Very strong in its depiction, which has nothing dramatic about it, the saint holds his head in the hope of finding a suitable place to be buried.
Thus, it is said, he traveled several leagues until he found it, not far from Paris. His name was also given to this city to which he gave his name.
This beautiful sculpture of Gothic realism from the end of the 15th century is very decorative and fits very well into a contemporary decoration.
