BIOGRAPHY:
Eugène Broerman, born in Brussels in 1860 and died in Saint-Gilles in 1932, is a Belgian painter, student at the Brussels Academy with Portaëls, great draftsman, he won the Godecharle prize in 1881 at the age of 20 and left for Italy, then stayed in Provence.
In 1893, he published under the title: "National Celebrities", an album of 55 portraits of personalities from the reign of Leopold II, he executed genre scenes, seascapes, landscapes and anecdotal scenes.
He was also a decorator, and painted large allegorical frescoes in the council chamber of the town hall of Saint-Gilles and for the royal castle of Ciergnon.
Listed in the Bénézit and '' the little Masters of painting '' by Schurr Period late 19th century
