"Louis XIV Chest Of Drawers In Walnut XVIII Centuries"
Beautiful LOUIS XIV COMMODE chest of drawers in walnut marquetry, the slightly domed front. It opens with three drawers, rounded amounts. The marquetry alternates dark and dark wood species in frames. Trim of gilded bronzes such as keyholes, the handles are stamped with the crowned c.* Bronzes with the "C crowned", from the First half of the 18th Century. Conceived under Louis XV to be a tax stamp, the "Crown C" affixed to the Bronzes, also became for Les Collectionneurs a Quality and Date stamp: used between 1745 and 1749. It was only affixed to the most refined Bronzes. We can therefore date our chest of drawers between 1745 and 1749. late 17th, early 18th century.
