"Oshe Shango Yoruba Nigeria Sango"
A superb Oshe Shango Yoruba, these dancing scepters were used in ceremonies related to the worship of the Thunder God Shango. Very good condition, original polychrome, beautiful patina of use, the face is blackened unlike the back, probably soot from the fire of the box where it was stored! Quite rare in this quality and with its original colors. Former collection of a French geographer, collected on site in the 80s, estimated dating around 1940/50. Height 47cm
