"Jean Brunet: Le Grand Ferré, Drawing"
Jean Brunet obtained a scholarship from the city of Poitiers in 1872 and entered Gerôme's studio in Paris, he made his debut at the Salon of the Society of French Artists in 1876 and exhibited until 1914. Silver medal in 1900, appointed professor of drawing for the city of Paris. Our drawing is a study for one of the characters in his painting: Le Grand Ferré exhibited at the Salon of 1888 (see the photo of the reproduction of the painting in the catalog of the Salon. The drawing is noted at the bottom in the middle: Etude pour le Grand Ferré and below signed with the monogram: JB
