Steel and copper
Length: 19.5 cm, height: 10 cm
A flintlock gun chenapan plate with a flat body chased with historiated scenes from Genesis.
To the left of the plate, Adam almost falls, bent at the knee, alongside the serpent of the Temptation. In the centre of the plate, at the level of the basin, Eve is engraved in front, her hands concealing her chest, against a plant background. On the dog Adam is alone with Nahash.
The screw of the dog, also called the nut, is hidden under an almost lunar face, round and in relief. The basin is also chiselled with a winged face, the battery is openwork with vegetal motifs and finely decorated with foliage. The cover is animated by an anthropomorphic head finished in fire.
On the reverse, under the spring, a stamp is punched with the initials CP and a horse.
