"Pair Of Art Deco Cut Glass Vases, Signature Lorrain A Daum Subsidiary, Circa 1930"
Pretty pair of pansus vases in cut glass with geometric patterns and smoked color, signed LORRAIN, Art Deco period. Good used condition, no chips or cracks. Note only a slight wear on part of the edge of the neck of a vase (see last photo). The Verrerie d'Art Lorrain, or Verrerie Belle Etoile Daum et Cie was created on December 15, 1925 by Antonin DAUM in Croismare, near Lunéville, in order to differentiate its production from that of the Daum factory located in Nancy. From 1927, it mechanized to produce pieces in pressed blown and pressed molded glass, signed LORRAIN. The economic crisis of the 1930s affected Verrerie Belle Étoile. It closed definitively on December 16, 1934. Some of the 120 workers were reclassified to Daum in Nancy.
