Object description :

"Pair Of Louis XV Candlesticks, Brussels 1760, J.j.brichaut, Sterling Silver"
Magnificent pair of twisted candlesticks from the Louis XV period with the hallmarks of the city of Brussels for the year 1760 and the hallmark of master silversmith Johannes Josephus Brichaut. This goldsmith was originally from Mons but apprenticed with the Brussels goldsmith Fonson, himself a native of Mons and in turn the former apprentice of Lambertus Millé, probably the best eighteenth-century goldsmith in Brussels. Brichaut became a bourgeois of Brussels and master goldsmith in September 1755. His production is of superior quality and is still present in several Belgian public collections. 820 grams per pair
