"Suite Of Six Watercolor Engravings, Late 17th Century"
Exceptional set of six hand-colored engravings extracted from the book "Several sea buildings with their proportions", by galley lieutenant Henri Sbonski de passebon, published around 1690; This rare set was published by Pieter Mortier, printer and bookseller in Amsterdam. Following a trip to Paris around 1690, Pieter Mortier obtained the royal privilege to print, publish and colorize the plates of Sbonski de Passebon's work. Despite a few scattered bites, the set is in good general condition, the colors having remained very bright and fresh. Two of them have slightly reduced margins.
