"Tomb Commode XIX"
The originality of the "tomb" chest of drawers is a very particular camber which is divided horizontally into three equal zones: a convex middle part between two concave parts corresponding exactly to the three rows of drawers. Viewed in plan, the "tomb" chest of drawers has a slightly curved face. It rests on short legs so that the central apron almost touches the ground. We present here a chest of drawers opening with three drawers in three rows. All of the frame and drawers in oak with a veneer on the front and on the sides in rosewood inlaid in frieze in the frames. Pretty gilded bronzes and "peach blossom" marble top. Construction at the start of the 19th century in the Louis XV style H 90 W 109 D 54 cm.
