Rare old wrought iron foëne from the 19th century. This tool is used for shore fishing to catch flatfish in shallow water or eels at low tide or in seagrass beds. Commonly used in Charentes Maritimes, they were attached to the end of a stick. This one in wrought iron is composed of 9 teeth in an arc of a circle fixed on a central axis. They are linked together by brass wires and their end is finished with a hook. presented on a blackened wooden base, good state of conservation for this popular art object.
