"Terracotta Signed Gaston Hauchecorne"
Restored patinated terracotta signed Gaston Hauchecorne Gaston HAUCHECORNE born in Le Havre on September 10, 1880 and died in Paris on April 8, 1945. He was a teacher and interpreter in Beijing and director of the Chongqing consulate. He exhibited from the beginning of the 1920s at the Salon des Artistes Françaises and took part in the national colonial exhibition in Marseilles in 1922. The models were executed in natural terracotta or bronze. Hauchecorne is part of the group of progressive sculptors "La Stèle" founded by art publisher Arthur Goldscheider. Their work was exhibited in 1925 under the title Art Deco in a pavilion designed by Eric Bagge at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts.
