"Polychrome Parquet Clock Galante Scene Decor"
The crown, which encloses the enamel dial with Roman numerals, is made of brass, and presents a rare decoration with repoussé peacocks, which peck the fruit garnishing a cup with a gadrooned pedestal. The motifs of the pendulum are just as sophisticated, on the central rosette, composed of two superimposed trays which pivot one above the other, thrushes twirl in the center of a trellis of vines. The sheath of the clock is polychrome and embellished with a monochrome decoration in bistre tones and simulating a marble background. On the base, an oval-shaped medallion reveals a gallant scene, a romantic encounter between two teenagers. The central body is decorated with falling flowers.
