"Louis XIV Commode In Rosewood Veneer"
Beautiful Louis XIV chest of drawers in rosewood veneer opening with three drawers. It has a sober composition in wood on the front and sides and a magnificent interlacing marquetry in wavy and curly rosewood. Beautiful ornamentation of gilded bronzes with drooping handles, apron, falls, entrances and ingot mold. This piece of furniture has kept a strict original state, both for the veneer, the bronzes, the locks, the drawers and the whole structure. It has a beautiful aspect called "in its own juice" for lovers of unvarnished furniture. Oak drawers dark. Small usual restorations. Parisian work from the first quarter of the 18th century.
