Beautiful pair of Louis XIV style gilt bronze wall sconces, one representing the medallion of a helmeted warrior surmounted by two Putti, one playing the flute and the other holding a lit torch. For the other, the medallion representing a woman, surmounted by two winged cupids. This representation tinged with mythology is well in the spirit of gallant love in vogue during the great century. These sconces have been made with great care with regard to the bronze cast and its carving. Parisian work from the Napoleon III period. Very fresh gilding with minimal wear, pierced branches for electricity.
