Topped with a largely scalloped crown, the frame is assembled with a dovetail. It opens with two solid doors framed by two series of moldings, the lower ones of which rest on four fretted feet.
The interior is painted, enhanced with gold leaf with small shelves allowing the presentation of small votive sculptures.
This oratory is reminiscent of the architectural styles of the Saint Antoine church in Cairu State of Bahia or the Matrix church of the Santissimo Sacramento de Santo Antonio in Recife, the former capital.

Museums Brazil: - Instituto Cultural Flávio Gutierrez / The Oratory Museum was inaugurated in 1998 in the city of Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, in the 18th century building belonging to the Venerable Third Order of Carmo, which was completely restored and adapted to house the Museum. It presents a magnificent collection of 162 oratories and 300 images from the 17th to the 20th century. The pieces in the collection were donated to IPHAN (Institute of National Historical and Artistic Heritage) by collector Angela Gutierrez and are authentically Brazilian, mostly from Minas Gerais. The museum's documentation is freely accessible.
