Imposing box pistol with high caliber percussion of 18m/m at the mouth, Louis Philippe period. XIX°. Movable bayonet projected forward by unlocking the blade by recoiling the trigger guard. Nail type bayonet positioned under the barrel is folded and locked by the trigger guard. By pulling it backwards, the tip of the bayonet is released and a powerful spring projects it in the open position forwards. Chest engraved with scrollwork and foliage bearing LIEGE hallmarks: "Starry ELG in oval (1811-1893)" and hallmark of the cork inspector: "V crowned (1811-1877)." Barrel with forced ball octagonal with smooth interior of diameter 18 m/m at the exit of muzzle. Fluted wooden handle with palmette decoration formed of 2 plates fixed between two metal flanges. Oval and mobile trigger guard. Single action mechanism with safety catch in perfect working order. Blade release mechanism in perfect working order. Fairly unusual weapons with this bayonet mechanism system.
