"Important Bronze “david”, By A. Gaudez – Late 19th Century"
Magnificent bronze proof with black and green patina, signed Adrien Etienne Gaudez (1845-1902), renowned French sculptor, gold medalist at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1889. This 67 cm high work is presented on a large revolving base. It depicts David, future king of Israel, who strikes down the hero of the Philistines, the giant Goliath, with a pebble thrown with a sling.

This biblical episode was chosen by the artist to salute courage and strength, accentuated by the beauty and impressive size of this bronze. David is depicted naked, simply wearing sheepskin around his hips. Her athletic body is perfectly shaped. In his right hand he holds his sling firmly. His gait is haughty and glorious, his face with the perfect physiognomy is lifted and surrounded by soft hair. Powerful, this work will charm you with its incomparable charisma.
