"Stew Spoon, Paris 1781, 32.5 Cm, Sterling Silver"
Very large and heavy stew spoon in the "fidle and thread " pattern l with the hallmark of Paris for the year 1781. Hallmark of a master silversmith difficult to read but probably to be read as J A below a crowned fleur-de-lys. It is nicely engraved with a period coat of arms surmounted by a marquis "azure with a gold chevron accompanied by three encounters with a cow?" It weighs 185 grams.
