"Fireback With The Arms Of Lamyc And Bertrand (77x79 Cm)"
Rare very well made fireback, from the 17th century, in perfect condition, with the alliance arms of Ignace-Pascal Lamyc * (1673-1749), known as "Mylord", baron of Lardeyrol en Velay and Marie Bertrand (1673-?), married in 1689. The coats of arms are surmounted by a knight's helmet with lambrequins, supported by two langued lions. "Ignace-Pascal Lamyc, nicknamed "Mylord", ennobled by the office of Capitoul of Toulouse, twice became 1st Consul of Le Puy (1723-1724), Councilor of the King, Receiver of the sizes of the diocese (1721) and contributed largely in 1737 to the construction of the chapel of Saint François Régis in the church of the College. This Ignace-Pascal Lamyc had acquired on October 9, 1731 from Ignace de Montboissier-Beaufort-Canillac Baron de Cusse, Seigneur de Chassaigne, etc. and from Pierre - Charles his son, at the price of 66,000 pounds the barony of Lardeyrol, one of the eighteen diocesan baronies, but he could not however be admitted to take session in the States of Velay, his recent quality of ennoblement not allowing him to demonstrate the several degrees that was required."
