Biography: Stappers Julien was born in Chenee, Belgium in 1875. He was a painter of landscapes and town views but is most noted for his still life and florals and southern landscapes. Sunny colour palette and impressionist rendition.
From 1894 – 1899, he was a student of De Vriendt at the Antwerp Academy of Art. He also studied at the Antwerp Superior Academy of Art from 1899 – 1901.
He first exhibited in 1903 in Brussels, and exhibited extensively throughout his lifetime in Brussels, Spa and other important venues in Belgium.
He exhibited at the Rubens Gallery in Brussels from 1959 – 60 and at the La Galerie Jordaens in Ghent in 1957 and 1959 – 60.
Stappers died in 1960.
