Two Angels, Wooden Altar Element - XVIIth Century flag

Object description :

"Two Angels, Wooden Altar Element - XVIIth Century"
Five hundred years old, our two venerable long-haired wooden angels, sculpted in the round, were originally polychromed.
Slender and with the austerity necessary for the solemnity of their function, they are complementary elements, guardians of the same altar.

The first of our angels is ceroferary because he carries a candlestick and thus offers Light. He barely dominates his sidekick because the Light takes precedence over everything. The second, precisely, carries a cornucopia, an inexhaustible source of benefits.

They both have a beautiful presence, despite the insults of the centuries which only make them more endearing.

From the 16th century, it is probably a Spanish work.
