GENIN Lucien
Born on November 9, 1894 in Rouen / Died in 1953 in Paris .
Painter of urban landscapes, gouache painter, watercolorist, pastellist, draughtsman, postimpressionist.
Lucien Génin was first a student at the School of Fine Arts in Rouen, then in 1919 Lucien Génin was admitted to the School of Decorative Arts in Paris. In 1932 Lucien Génin received a prize from the Art Institute of Chicago and in 1960 a personal exhibition of his works was organized in Paris.
Lucien Génin received a very complete training, but developed a personal technique all in spontaneity with an innocent look on the simple things of life. Lucien Génin painted mainly in Paris, but some views of Rouen, Lorient, Dinan, Marseille or Villefranche-sur-mer are to be noted. Lucien Génin totally specialized in the very requested theme of the views of Paris. Lucien Génin painted with extremely quick and easy strokes, which explains his abundant production.
