Large "Hans-Agne Jakobsson" Lamp Dating From The 50s-60s. Hans-Agne Jakobsson (1919-2009) Born in Hvadhem on the island of Gotland (Sweden) in 1919, Hans-Agne Jakobsson completed his apprenticeship as a carpenter before studying architecture in Gothenburg. He began his career as an industrial designer at General Motors then became assistant to Carl Malmsten, one of the most prominent figures in Swedish design. In 1951, he set up his own company in Markaryd, Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB, and began to create original lighting. Like many Scandinavian designers, he is very influenced by his homeland: the lakes of southern Sweden, the dark and deep woods feed his imagination. He likes dim lights and always tries to make dazzling bulbs disappear. Hans-Agne Jakobsson works with iron, copper, glass, leather and fabric, mixing materials and techniques. His creations are truly original, innovative in their design and aesthetics. They are found both in private homes and in public buildings. It is very spectacular because of its size. Elegance of the openwork dome composed of an aluminum blade. The foot is also very elegant, made up of curved Plexi tubes resting on an aluminum shower foot with its switch.
