He died in 2004. Camille Hilaire joined the School of Fine Arts in Paris. Camille Hilaire turned to a career as a teacher in 1947. The painter continued his services at the School of Paris in 1958. He experimented with several techniques, namely lithography, watercolour, tapestry and stained glass. His creations are on the threshold of post-cubism and figuration. Several monographs around the world are dedicated to the artist. History ranks Camille Hilaire among the best painters of the mid-20th century.
