Object description :

"Sacerdotal Cloak - Early 20th Century"
This liturgical or Pluvial cope is made of red velvet and gold embroidery. The red color is that of the "great days".

Dazzling, it is mainly used on the feasts of the Martyrs, at Pentecost, Palm Sunday or Good Friday as well as for the election of the sovereign pontiff.
It simultaneously evokes the blood of the Savior and the divine fire. Centered on its hood, a four-lobed medallion, in Glory, welcomes Christ. Purple fabric lining.

A garment from the very end of the 19th century, beginning of the 20th century, in excellent condition.

127cm tall. 59 cm by 56 for the hood.
