"Fireplace Plate With The Arms Of Jacques De Bonneville (81x81 Cm)"
Fireback with curved top, cast in the 19th century of a plate dating from the middle of the 17th century, with the arms of Jacques de Bonneville 1637-1676 or his son François 1664-1740, originating from Normandy in Chamblac in the Eure. Jacques, squire and guard of his majesty was married with Jeanne Contesse and François, squire and officer of his SAR Monsieur the Prince of Condé, married in 1701 in first marriage Étiennette, Jeanne Le Duc then Marguerite Boucher in 1737 in second marriage. The family resided at the Château de Bonneville and in its domain at Chamblac, from 1400 with Jean de Bonneville and transmitted until the 18th century, following a fire in the middle of this century Nicolas de Bonneville, grand-nephew of Racine, rebuilt the castle and, without posterity, bequeathed it to his uncle Léo Mallard. Today owned by the de Broglie family. This plate was found in a house in Lisieux in Calvados, dated 1864, 30 kilometers from Chamblac.
