Dimensions: 135 cm x 112 cm This famous 16th century motif from the Italian Renaissance, appeared in a Florentine velvet in the first version. It will also be produced during the 17th century in Italy and Spain, with tiny variations in the design, in the form of damask, brocatelle or velvet. Often available in fragment, it is however rare to collect it in such a large format. A coat of arms stamp with three towers in an angle indicates its origin from the bottom of the Manufacture Le Manach in Tours, dispersed in the auction room in Paris, about ten years ago. It is found in several museum collections around the world, including that of the Royal Ontario Museum.
