This Napoléon III fireplace was made in the late nineteenth century of Belgian Noir de Mazy and the detached columns are made of Bréche de Sanguine. The panelled frieze is highlited by façet-lozenges, also from the rare Brèche de Sanguine. An Algerian marble that has vivid colors and gives great movement to this fireplace. Noir de Mazy is one of the finest Belgian marbles, black as black can be. Quarried at an average depth of 75 meters underground.
