Elegant walnut console from the Louis XV period mid-18th century,
strongly curved on the front and on the sides and topped with a superb original Sarrancolin marble.
size easy to accommodate, the base entirely in walnut, the ribs and the front are strongly curved.
it rests on four curved legs, two of which are sculpted on the front with grooves and ending in doe feet. the rear feet are strongly curved too.
the crosspieces are strongly fretted and hemmed with nets.
the assemblies are fitted with dovetails and doweled. the front crosspiece is adorned with a large lamp base.
it is topped with a magnificent marble very worked in sarrancolin (marble from the Pyrenees which is found a lot in the Palace of Versailles).
this marble is original and is very nicely worked with a double groove and a corbin beak.
it was broached for safety in the 19th century. It is in excellent condition.
the console just has a few small restorations of use and maintenance, a small graft on a rear foot.
a preventive treatment with xylophene was carried out at the workshop, but there are no longer any active insects.
the waxed patina is magnificent and the console is blond walnut.
a very beautiful louis XV console from the south of France, easy to place.
