Treated in the spirit of the works of Jean Jacques Henner, of whom Zwiller was an unconditional admirer, this beautiful oil on canvas of a large format, integrates as background, a landscape of the Sundgau region between Mulhouse and the Swiss border, ideal scene with these contrasts provided by the dark of the forests and the pale blue reflections of the sky in the ponds.
The objective of the artist's work here is the rendering of light on the different tones of the flesh in addition to the feelings of tranquility released by this evening atmosphere. Signed lower left A.Zwiller.
