- Hippolyte François Moreau born in Dijon on April 1, 1832, second son of the sculptor and painter of Jean-Batiste Moreau, he came to work in Paris under the
direction of the sculptor François Jouffroy (1806-1882) from Dijon and exhibited his first work at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1859, then he
exhibited regularly at the salon until 1914.
- He won a medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878 and another at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900.
- Most of his work includes figures of children and young women, mostly allegorical.
- He created many models in marble, plaster, terracotta, bronze and porcelain biscuit edited by founders and porcelain factories.
- Hippolyte François Moreau died at the age of 95 on January 4, 1927 in Neuilly sur Seine in the Paris region.
