"Water Drum, Traditional Instruments, Oceanic Art, Tribal Art, Papua New Guinea"
Wooden water drum in hard wood. The water drum is used during traditional ceremonies evoking original myths. The water drummers are hidden near the banks of the Sepik River, behind a leafy palisade, and thus make the spirit of the crocodile "sing". This type of drum produces a dull and powerful sound when, thanks to a stick held vertically by the 4 mooring points located right through, this hollow drum is lifted and violently strikes the surface of the water.
