Object description :

"Emile Contrault (1881-1945) Beautiful Africanist Painting From The 30s African Village Colonial Exhibition Of 1931 In Paris"
With this very beautiful oil on cardboard, our artist, a traveling painter, takes us to a village in black Africa in the 1930s. Women with their jars seem to welcome the visitor. A beautiful scene of typical life and the straw huts in the background. A sublime palette of bright and very contrasting colors; the outlines of the villagers are finely outlined in black and bring them to life. Signed with the artist's stamp at the bottom left and a second time on the back of the work. Dimensions: 55 cm x 38 cm (painting in 10 P format) 73 cm x 56 cm with its contemporary Montparnasse frame Very good condition. Some lack of patina on the frame. In the last photo, the notice of the many Salons in which our artist participated from 1904, without forgetting his participation in the Colonial Exhibition of 1931 in Paris. Many other objects to discover in my stand at the antique fairs in which I participate. Follow my gallery to be informed of new products and to know the dates of the next Salons... Any questions? Feel free to call me or send me a message. I will answer you with great pleasure.
