Exceptional cast iron fireplace and black marble top decorated with Greek Muses.
On the left is represented the muse "Thalia". She is crowned with ivy and holds a mask to represent comedy. This mask is represented in the medallion in the center of the fireplace.
On the right is represented the muse "Euterpe". She is crowned with flowers, carries a flute and sometimes an oboe or other musical instruments. These also adorn the center of the chimney.
The fireplace top is in black marble and in perfect condition. It has never been broken and has not been restored.
Magnificent and unique richly carved piece.
This fireplace has been painted.
