"Poul Kjaerholm, Pair Of Pk22 Fireside Chairs, E. Kold Christensen Around 1960"
Pair of 'PK22' low chairs designed by Poul Kjærholm in 1956 and produced by E. Kold Christensen. Black leather and steel, around 1960. Marked on the steel structure. Kjærholm's furniture designs are characterized by a simple aesthetic, preferring clean lines. He uses a lot of steel structures, and often combines them with natural materials like wood, rattan, and leather. He is a strong supporter of industrial production. Kjærholm designs a dozen chairs and tables, such as the iconic PK22 and PK24 chairs. E. Kold Christensen and Fritz Hansen produced several of his designs. Among his many awards is the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale (in 1957 and 1960).
