"Rare Sale Embroidery - Morocco Circa 1880-1920"
Circa 1880- 1920 Morocco Rare chest or table top in Salé embroidery in very tight cross stitch of floss silk threads dyed with indigo and cochineal red. Arab-Andalusian-inspired design with wide scalloped stripes, punctuated with yellow, green and blue dots. One-piece embroidery with astonishing openwork in-betweens in cream silk thread. Later machine-fitted ecru cotton lining (possibly a cushion cover). No defect. Very good condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: 85cm x 74cm
