Circa 1900-1910 France Lyon Large hanging in new condition in yellow green damask satin with Manufacture Lyonnaise JM Piotet & J. Roque label. Framing of borders with large design of plant rosettes and pineapple with four spandrel bouquets. Shades of light green satin, silver damask and twill silk for the dark green. The design resulting from the great tradition of Lyonnaise silk over several centuries, recalls the Empire and Restoration decorations. The original label indicates JMP green lampas curtains 4131. Note two sample cutouts in the borders, otherwise never used. Excellent state of color and conservation. Dimensions: 269 cm high x 164 cm wide Stemming from the great tradition of the Soirie Lyonnaise, Maison Piotet & Roque distinguished itself at the Universal Exhibitions of Lyon in 1889 and 1994, of which JM Piotet was President of the V group for silks (ref Official Bulletin of the 1894 exhibition). The Musée des Tissus de Lyon has a famous Iris lampas from this factory, which was also known to supply Haute Couture, including Charles Frédéric Worth, who made dresses with this model.
