This text deals with Jean Goujon, the castles of Fontainebleau, Saint-Germain en Laye, Boulogne, Villiers-Cotterêts, Louvre, Vincennes, Royal Palace, etc... The author was an archaeologist, he published numerous works on art in the Renaissance as well as on the archives and the invention of the printing press. He was also a diplomat and was appointed Director General of the Archives of the Empire.
