"Moorea - Watercolor On Paper Signed And Dated 71"
- Moorea - Patrice Nielly (1931 - 1999) Born in Paris into a family of state clerks who made a career overseas. Very early on, in contact with his father, himself a painter, he showed obvious artistic dispositions. He discovered the Pacific at the age of 15, Tahiti, the New Hebrides and then New Caledonia in 1947. First a country teacher in the New Caledonian bush, he was later appointed drawing teacher at the Nouméa high school. More a colorist than a graphic designer, Caledonian nature provides him with most of his inspiration. The proposed work is a Tahitian watercolor from "Moorea".
