"Maison Krieger Louis XV Marquetry Table"
Elegant 19th century coffee table stamped by the famous KRIEGER house in PARIS with a precious wood marquetry structure, the eventful belt opens with a large drawer and decorated on all sides with a net of tinted sycamore interlacing forming frames in rosewood, the scalloped top of a molded bronze ingot mold is animated on the top by a large cross-brace pattern known as queen marquetry underlined by a frame of interlacing, it rests on arched feet adorned with falls in Rocaille pattern extending into leafy clogs. Beautiful ornaments in delicately chiseled gilt bronze. Good general condition, the signature "Maison KRIEGER furnishing PARIS" is affixed to the drawer. Dimensions: 75 cm high X 70 cm long X 45 cm wide. Antoine Krieger (1804-1869), originally from Bas-Rhin, moved with his brother Nicolas around 1826 to Paris. Located at 17 rue Saint-Nicolas, it can be found at n°77 then 52 rue du faubourg St Antoine. He obtained a medal in London in 1852. At the Universal Exhibition of 1855, he presented a pretty sideboard, in sculpted panels with a medallion representing stag hunting. The furniture of this House are recognized and sought after for their quality and elegance.
