"Suite Of Four Engravings Eighteenth"
Elegant series of four antique engravings from the late 18th century. Rare color prints by Elisabeth Challiou engraver Salle Neuve of the Palais Marchand in Paris. Beautiful mythological compositions representing respectively: -Aspasia instructing two young Athenian women - Abelard presenting Hymen to Héloïse - The flight from Paris and Helen - Venus presenting Helen to Paris- The frames are from the Louis XVI period in gilded wood, with period blown glass dressed in a circular passe-partout. Very good state of conservation, they each measure 46 cm X 46 cm / at sight 38 cm in diameter.
