"China - Rare Terracotta Soldier With Shield - Wei Dynasty (420-581)"
Rare piece representing a terracotta warrior in a standing position. Dressed in an orange tunic tightened by a double drawstring at the waist surmounted by a crossed black waistcoat. The tunic falls over trousers tucked into the boots. The left arm firmly holds a shield, the right hand at the end of the arm along the body was to hold a spear. The hair is gathered in a bun on the top of the shaved head, typical of the Mongolian era. Terracotta with white slip and polychromy by pigmentation. Traces of roots in the internal part of the subject authenticate the antiquity of the object. Very good general condition. Object placed on an independent base. The rarity of the object is due to the wearing of the shield by the infantryman, very few pieces of this kind are found intact and complete. China - Wei Dynasty (420 -581).
