"Louis Germain Lavis d'Encre The Earthenware Mender XVIIIth"
Ink wash signed lower right Germain, for Louis Germain (1733-1791), depicting an earthenware mender in his workshop. Inscription in pen on the back "Le Raccommodeur de faience - Sepia with some highlights by Germain - Signed - Purchased at the Hôtel Drouot on March 4, 1909" Work in very good condition. Under mat paper enhanced with ink and under double marie-louise in wood and burlap, in a carved wooden frame gilded with leaf (gilding wear).
