Bronze Christ, hollow cast, 15th century
This kind of a very spare style Christ has been produced in center and west of France in the second half of 15th century. Body shows a very straight posture with arms forming a right angle and a round belly. Only the right leg is slightly bent to allow feet superimposition. Head wears a twisted crown, and though face is almost indistinct, on the other hand ribs are strongly marked by a deep ridges work. Short perizonium also shows a very simplified rendering, made of diagonal strips barely outlined.
Excellent condition, very dark brown green patina.
From feet to head: 13,4 cm
