Bronze carved and chiseled Christ statue with its halo (this element is often missing, and it is rare to find it still attached to its original Christ)
Please note specially
*the perizonium tied at his waist, the work of the bust of Christ revealing his ribs, its emaciated appearance adding to the drama of the subject.
*The halo is engraved with a Byzantine-inspired cross motif.
*The fingers of hands of this Christ are chiselled in a very precise and individualized way, slightly curled up on themselves.
Spain (?) 16th century
Sizes: 18cm high * 17cm wide (*3cm deep)
Condition: wear especially at the end of feet; his original right arm seems to have been re-soldered (originally ?) before the elbow
Very very nice dark brown and shiny patina
