17th century period Oil on canvas Beautiful style frame, in light wood with guilloché moldings and tortoiseshell veneer, inverted profile. Total dimensions: 54 x 50 cm. The canvas: 35 x 30 cm A friendly atmosphere reigns in this charming painting. Peasants have gathered at the inn and in the foreground a young couple is drinking and eating, their little dog lying at the foot of the barrel. In this delicious little painting, the painter shows us all sorts of objects: kitchen utensils, pitchers and pottery. Executed by the workshop of David Téniers around 1680, our painting is the perfect representation of genre scenes and popular life very fashionable during the 17th century in Flanders. Very good condition. Sold with invoice & certificate.
