Haute Epoque

Large wooden carved statue depicting penitent Saint Jerome, praying and lying on a wide druckle, holding a book (The Bible), with a skull / vanity placed just next to him.

17th cty
This carving is very expressive, and has avery nice dark and shiny patina

Condition: some minors lacks (bord of his bure / clothe, fingers of a hand et toe of one foot) and some sticked parts (1 hand on its wrist, a coin of Bible)... but these old restorations don't interfere with the readability of the subject.

Dimensions: very large size !!! 42cm length, 26cm large and 29cm high
