LEFORT, Georges (1875-1954). “St. Efflam”. (1900). Blue pencil and watercolour. 47.8 x 31.3 cm. Located, dated (August 1900) and signed lower right. The entrance gate of the Kerviziou manor in Plestin-les-Grèves (Côtes-d'Armor), gate listed as a Historic Monument since 1927. The church of Plestin-les-Grèves is dedicated to Saint Efflam, a local saint whose tomb it houses. Georges Robert Lefort was born in Paris in 1875 and died in Guingamp in 1954. A student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he settled as an architect and urban planner in Guingamp in 1906. He was an architect for the City of Rennes, ordinary architect of Historic Monuments, architect of the Hospices Civils de Rennes, architect of the City of Guingamp. We also owe him several buildings in Saint-Brieuc or Dinan; he worked on the restoration of several churches in Brittany.
